TUSCALOOSA Jonathan Criswell, age 31, of Tuscaloosa, died July 16, 2010, at home. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Patsy Criswell; his grandmother, Opal Beverley; and his great-grandparents, Tolbert and Daisy Evers.
He is survived by his sister, Kim Hinds (Bryan); his nephew, Blake; aunt and uncle, Terry and Linda Beverley; cousins, Cary and Brooke Beverley and their son Christian, Jennifer Beverley and her children, Tres, Zach and Josh, Keith and Kelly Beverley and their children, Tab and Colin; and close family friend, Clytee Holloway.
Jonathan was a graduate of Central High School and the University of Alabama where he received a degree in Business Administration. Jonathan was a lifelong member of Hopewell Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching professional boxing and fishing and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Seven years ago, Jonathan suffered injuries that would forever change his life. He was a wonderful example of determination and strength. Jonathan was such a blessing to those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Keith Debell, Amedysis Home Health Care, Ashley Foster and Connie Samuel.
Words can never express the gratitude felt by his family to Jeff Blair. He filled Jonathan's day with encouragement, laughter, movies and was an incredible caregiver. To him, our friend, thank you Jeff, for taking care of Jonathan so well.
