John Edward “Johnny” Rogers, Sr., age 76, of Dollarhide Community, died June 8, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with President Gary James officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clemmie and Eddie Rogers; and his daughter, Brandi Michelle. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Anne Rogers; daughters, Tammy Hulsey (Mike) and Johnna Hilderbrand; son, John E. Rogers, Jr.; sister, Peggy Shattuck; brother, Larry Rogers (Carolyn); and granddaughter, Jade Michelle Hilderbrand. Johnny was born in Tuscaloosa where he met his wife of 46 years and raised three children. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1977. He enjoyed church callings, spending time with family, hunting and fishing. He was known for his green thumb. There was even an article in the local newspaper calling his property “The Garden of Eden in Dollarhide” because of the abundance of fruits and vegetables and beautiful flowers.
