Jim was preceded in death by his parents Fannye Knox and Mack Dunnam.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Jordan Dunnam. Donna and Jim were married on October 11, 1963. Jim is also survived by his sister, Maxine Dunnam Dockery (Gene) of Coker, Alabama; two brothers-in-law, James Richard Jordan (Betty) of Adamsville; and Bruce David Jordan (Eddie Mae) of Hoover.
Jim was a Class of 1958 graduate of Moore Academy in Pineapple, Alabama and The University of Alabama in 1962 with a degree in Finance. He also attended the Louisiana State University School of Banking.
Jim spent the majority of his career as a banker. He served as a Vice President of First National Bank in Montgomery and President of banks in Troy, Luverne, and Andalusia. After many years as a banker, Jim decided to enter the world of real estate and was selected as Realtor of The Year for Okaloosa County Florida in the early 2000s while owning his own agency.
Jim loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served as a deacon at The Baptist Church of McAdory; a church he truly loved where he and Donna were members. Declining health limited their ability to attend church in person in recent years, but he was able to fellowship in person just a few weeks ago and he radiated with joy being able to worship with his church family. He was an avid gardener and could be found many spring and summer days working on his flower beds around their home. Jim and his wife loved animals. At his passing they had four cats, but his favorite critters were his dogs, General Lee and Savannah, a black lab. Many afternoons, you could find Jim loading General Lee and Savannah in his truck for their daily ride on the roads of McCalla. They would jump in his truck and settle in for a great ride around the western side of town. Jim was known for his wonderful, infectious smile and his faithful companions seemed to wear the same smile as they checked out the countryside on their rides!
