Jennifer Lee, age 64, of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, April 23, 2010, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Christopher Goers officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Mobile, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emily Latham; uncle, John Allen; father-in-law, Victor Searcy Lee; and mother-in-law, Ava Sue Lee.
Survivors include her hus-band, Victor L. Lee; daughter, Deborah Croft Hedrick (Lucas Chad Hedrick); sons, Stephan John Croft (Sheila-Snow Croft), Nathan Ruben Croft (Jan Marie Croft), Aaron James Lee (Karen Lee), and Spencer Robert Lee (Emily Jones); brother, Dennis Court; nephew, Wayne Court; first cousin and best friend, Sheila Todd; grandchildren, Joshua Michael Stevenson, William Becton Yon, Cade Dailey Hedrick, Tristan Blair and Vaughan Croft.
Jennifer Ann Lee was born in Bromley, Kent, England, and grew up with her mother and brother in the small village of Fritwell in Oxfordshire, England. As a young adult, she relocated to the town of Banbury, England, where she was very active in community theatre. She subsequently immigrated to America where she settled in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with her children Stephen, Deborah and Nathan. In 1982, she married Victor Lee as he began his career in the United States Coast Guard. Jennifer and Victor were blessed with two sons, Aaron and Spencer, as they traveled around the country to various duty stations, including Portland, Maine, Kodiak, Alaska, Elizabeth City, N.C., Miami, Fla., and Mobile, Ala.
Always a loving wife and mother, who cared for her family before herself, she will forever be our cherished flower. “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17).
Pallbearers will be Billy Koon, Lee Todd, Chad Todd, Adam Lee, Richard Lee and Jim Walton.
Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Court, Richard Todd, Bob Mundinger, the Chief Petty Officers’ Mess of US Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile, and the members of Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Mobile, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals and cancer research.
