James Howard Thomas, Jr., age 16, of Duncanville, died Feb. 16, 2010, at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Youngblood officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Vance with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Jennie Kizziah, and his uncle, Keith Kizziah.
He is survived by his father, James Howard Thomas, Sr.; brothers, Gavin Shuttlesworth and Cody Kizziah; sisters, Hailey Thomas and Hunter Shuttlesworth; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William J. Thomas and Roger Kizziah; mother, Connie Kizziah; very special mom, Aunt Gayla Thomas; step-mother, Shanna Shuttlesworth; very special aunts, Helen Watson, Teresa Cronan and Tammie Townsend; very special uncles, Davey Thomas, Willie Thomas, Joseph Thomas;numerous cousins and friends; girlfriend, Kelly Peterson; and very special friends, Vickie Hall and Patricia Poe.
James Howard Thomas, Jr. (Boo Boo) was born in Tuscaloosa County and attended Hillcrest High School. He was an avid Alabama fan who was loved by everyone and never met a stranger. He was a friend to all. God gave him to us for 16 years and saw how wonderful he was that he had to bring him home. We lost a wonderful young man, but God gained another angel.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Watson, Joseph Thomas, Jerry Kizziah, Phillip Cronan, Christopher Thomas, and Justin Brasher.
