TUSCALOOSA - James "Jim" Kenneth Harkins, age 90, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, Skyland Blvd., with a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016. The Rev. Bob Powell will officiate with Memory Chapel Funeral Home and Cremations directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard H. and Laura Matthews Harkins; eight sisters; and one brother. He is survived by his sons, LTC J. Kenneth Harkins (Ret) (Stephanie Brundage M.D.) of Austin, TX and Myrk Harkins (Donna) of Jasper, Ala.; and daughter, Deborah LeBron of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brother, Richard Harkins of Largo, FL and sister Ruth Boyer of Jasper; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Jim graduated from Walker County High School in 1944 and served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.
