TUSCALOOSA – James A. Elledge, age 87, passed away February 11, 2021 at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2021 in Memory Hill Gardens with Rev. James Walker, Rev. Bernie Deffinger, and Rev. Mark Aills officiating.
Mr. Elledge was preceded in death by his parents, Flossie and James S. Elledge; and daughter, Freda Rossborough.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Vera; daughters, Brenda Deerman (Earl Colbert) and JoAnn Stillwell (Johnny); son, Wayne Elledge (Cheryl); brothers, Doyle Pat Elledge and William “Bill” A. Elledge (Trecia); sister, Dora Ballard; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
James was born June 29, 1933 to the late James and Flossie Elledge. He served in the Army and worked at Perry’s Pride. James retired from BF Goodrich and then worked in heating and air, owning his own business known as Elledge Service. He loved serving the Lord, loved his family and friends, and enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be all family and friends, Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene, TSICU staff and nurses, and Hospice of West Alabama.
Donations may be made in James’ memory to Tuscaloosa First Church of the Nazarene or Hospice of West Alabama.
