Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd. E., Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.

Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

Visitation will be today, April 28, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lewis Blackwell; his wife of 49 years, Joan Blackwell; his brother, Ernest Blackwell; daughter, Linda Herndon; and grandson, Brandon Vincent Blackwell.

He is survived by his sisters, Rhoda Summers, Dalva Ashcraft, Nellie Rainier; brother, Charles Blackwell; daughter, Gail Head (David); sons, Jimmy (Kathy), Brian (Staci) and Daniel (Kristie); grandchildren, Gregory, Jimmy, Dana, Will, Sally, Robert Keith, Wade, Bradley, Jackson, Spencer, Vincent and Tiffani; and numerous great-grandchildren.
