Jack Travis Tubbs, of Cottondale, Alabama, passed away on April 11th, 2024. A service to honor Jack’s life will be held at Memory Chapel funeral home on Skyland Blvd in Tuscaloosa, Thursday April 18th at 12:00 pm with Brothers Jimmy Garner and Jon Wiggins presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents: Lester and Alberta Tubbs, and his siblings Kathadean Pierson, Nina Abston, Nona Minchew, LB Tubbs, Herbert Tubbs, John Tubbs, Comber Tubbs, and Don Tubbs.
Jack, born on February 27th, 1942, was a dedicated and hardworking man who always prioritized others before himself. He was known for his selflessness and love for others. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Jack is survived by his wife Betty Tubbs; Jacquelyn and Matt Hogan, their children Kaitlyn and Garrett; Bobby and Sandra Tubbs, their children Matilyn, Megan, and Blake; Gary and Melanie Tubbs, their children Hannah, Jackson, and Braylon; sister Maime Blackmon; plus a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran, Jack served in the Army National Guard from 1962 to 1968. After his military service, he embarked on a successful career as a store manager at Winn-Dixie, where he dedicated 39 years of his life. He was a proud graduate of Holt High School and a faithful member of Skyland Baptist Church.
In his free time, Jack enjoyed gardening and spending time with his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
