Retired Sgt. Howard Michael “Mike” Turner age 67 of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 12, 2017. A time to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Deacon Bill Remmert will be having some remarks.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Edward Turner and Pearl Patterson Driver. He is survived by his loving wife Jacquelyn “Jackie” Turner; daughter, Tina Turner Hudgins (Jason); grandchildren, McKenzie Boyd, Carlyle Hudgins, and Cole Hudgins; son, Michael Turner (Kristen); sister, Brenda Livingston (Bruce); sister-in-law, Susan Mavinidis (Lakis); nephew, Barry Livingston, and niece, Diane Hilliker.
Mike was a retired Tuscaloosa Police officer for 25 years. He worked Narcotics, homicide, Patrol division and was member of special response team as a Sniper. He retired in 1997 and worked at Eutaw Police Dept. for four years. He then worked at Shelton State Community College for 14 years. He was an avid hunter, marksman, and loved fishing. Die hard Alabama fan till the end. He will always be remembered and deeply missed for his strength, his tenacious spirit, his ability to find humor in all circumstances, the fish fries, his stories and memories to many to count. We are forever changed by his life and death but he has made heaven that much sweeter. When God calls us home we will know where to find him, sitting on banks of heaven.
