On this two- year anniversary of Aunt Hazel's Homegoing, she is very much missed...her big smile, laughter, long talks, caring heart, and fun times.  I'm happy for you, Aunt Hazel, to be home forever more with Jesus, Uncle Gene, and all your family in Heaven.  I love you!!!

My Aunt Hazel has been a grounded, solid, joyful, kind, positive, funny, and loving person all my life.  She has been concerned, and a huge supporter of her family.  Always a smile....always gracious....Our family will miss this bright light of joy and fun, and knowing that she loved us all.  I'm so happy for her that her trials are over on this earth, and she lives whole, full of the life of The LORD,  with Him forever, and her precious husband, Gene, parents, siblings and many friends and relatives. I love you aunt Hazel, and cherish you and all the times we shared.  We will see you soon!!

My grandparent’s love was simple. It was real. It was normal. Growing-up, I watched them share and nurture their infectious and ever-so-strong love for one another as they went through the joys and happiness of life—and its gut-wrenching heartaches and challenges. They were just two ordinary people that met one day, fell head-over-heels madly in love, and continued to work each-and-every-day take care of—and treasure—each other’s needs and happiness. 
	My grandfather always strived to make my grandmother smile. He was dedicated to taking care of and providing for her. As weak as he was in his final few days, he would exhaust himself trying to cover her with a blanket—worried she might be cold—rather than using his strength to take the needed breath or two for himself. Even in his last moments of life, he wanted to take care of my grandmother. 
	 My grandmother was no different. From their marriage vows to their final days together, my grandmother wanted nothing more than to be by my grandfather’s side every moment that she could—even demanding that their hospital beds be pushed together as closely as possible. Although weak herself, and unable to see, she tried to pull my grandfather into her arms to hold and comfort him as he drew his final breath. After my grandfather’s passing, when my grandmother was coming to her own final days, in her hand, she clinched tightly one of grandfather’s handkerchiefs—even as she took her final breath. My grandmother’s love for my grandfather was unconditional, unwavering, and unending—just like his was for her. Indeed, my grandparents were living examples of love—and we know, believe, and rejoice by faith that their love has continued in heaven even today. 
	They walked by faith, loved like Christ, and leaned on each other each-and-every day.

I am saddened to hear of Hazel’s passing. I worked with her at Partlow and learned of her passion and kindness for those less fortunate. Hazel had a beautiful heart and was one of those people that make you feel better when your around them. Prayers to her family for I know tears will be shed, but smile because her lived. Cherish those memories
