Geneva Gilbert Tannehill

Geneva Gilbert Tannehill, age 79, of Tuscaloosa, died April 26, 2011, at home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. May 4, 2011 at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Damon Rose officiating and Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel M. Tannehill; her parents, Ernest and Lillie Gilbert; and her sister, Jeannette Perrin.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlene Creamer (Bobby); son, Gilbert Tannehill (Phyllis); four grandchildren, Chris Creamer (Lauren), Adam Creamer (Trisha), Jake Tannehill, and Haley Tannehill; sister, Glenda Williams; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Goodwin; nieces, Judy Middlebrooks and Roxanne Williams; nephews, Greg Perrin and Rocky Williams.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to take trips especially during the fall when the leaves changed colors. She also loved to fly fish, sit on her patio, and watch the birds and all the animals around her.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers are Amedysis Hospice, Mozelle Smith, neighbors, and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association in Alabama.
