Gary Wayne Graham

COTTONDALE – Gary Wayne Graham, age 75, passed away at home April 15, 2021 following a stroke in January 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Chapman officiating.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Wayne and Margie Graham; his in-laws, Milton and Loyal Scrivner; and his nephew, Michael Brown.

Gary is survived by his wife, Imogene (Jean) Scrivner Graham; sister, Connie Graham Brown of Madison, AL; children, Shannon and Vince Jackson of Bay Minette, AL, Amye and Robert Sims of Brandon, MS, and John and Terri Graham of Foley, AL; grandchildren, Jay Jackson, Bobbye Jackson, Taylor Duncan, Addison and J.D. Rivers, Graham Nelms, Mackenzie Sims, Reid Nelms, Taylor Graham, Madison Graham, and Jordan Graham; and great-grandsons, Owen Duncan and Theodore Rivers.

Gary, the son of a United Methodist minister, lived several places in Alabama in his early life, studied at Birmingham Southern College, and traveled throughout the United States. He was a talented writer of poetry, short stories, and songs. He was a member of Andrews Chapel UMC.
