TUSCALOOSA – On April 14, 2018, Edward M. Reid, age 55, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., closed his beautiful blue eyes that looked like the sky and went home to be with his Heavenly Father. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Memory Hill Gardens.
Ed is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Asa Reid of Huntsville, Alabama; brother, Michael Reid; sister, Patsy Thigpen; and numerous relatives. He leaves behind and extended family of friends and caregivers (past and present) at the James Clyde Pate Home in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Ed loved them and they loved him.
Ed was born in Fort Benning, Georgia, but grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a graduate of Grissom High School and attended technical school. He served nine years in the United States Air Force as a mechanical engineer.
Ed enjoyed various hobbies including fishing, football and reading. His love and generosity were the marks that he left here on earth. He exemplified a heart of humility and gratitude. Ed was indeed one of a kind and will be remembered forever in our hearts.
