Derrick Christopher Ellington, Jr., age 20, passed away on December 24 ,2023 at his home in Northport . Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held at Memory Chapel Funeral Home on January 5, 2023 at 11am with visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM .

Derrick was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on March 1, 2003 to Derrick Sr. And Michelle Ellington. Derrick Jr. was very smart, talented, a great cook and had a big heart. He loved to fish, loved animals, loved football, and was definitely a star in any position he played. He loved to be outside and he loved his dog, GG. GG was his baby. If you ever had the pleasure to meet Derrick, you will have a memory of him. He definitely made a mark on the lives of those who had the pleasure to know him. Derrick will be greatly missed by so many .

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mom and dad, Michelle and Derrick Ellington; his brother, Cameron Morgan; his sister, Kyla Ellington; grandparents, Myra Wyatt, Eugene Gray, and Carrie Ellington; and his beloved dog GG.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Morgan, Khourey Turner, Nick Gilbert, Quon Williams, Ratrez Bennett, Bobby Morgan and Jimmy Morrow. Bro. Ken Spencer officiating services.
