Connie Rigdon Bennett

Memorial Services for Mrs. Connie Rigdon Bennett will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church at 912 31st Ave E., Tuscaloosa, AL with Pastor James Headley officiating. Private interment will be at Memory Hills Garden on Skyland Blvd.

Mrs. Bennett, 74, was born in Meridian, MS. There she attended Witherspoon Elementary, Kate Griffin Jr. High, and Meridian High School; class of 1967.

Mrs. Bennett died Saturday, November 11, 2023, at her home with her loving family at her side.

Connie’s greatest passion was her family. Her home was always the gathering place for all the extended family during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was devoted to every opportunity she was given to teach and disciple others.

Connie was a 40-year-Kidney transplant survivor with her brother Eddie being her donor and her hero!

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James Bennett III; a son, Todd (Rhonda); a brother, Eddie Rigdon; a grandson Dakota (Christian); 3 great grands, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar R. Rigdon, Sr., Frances Rigdon Hastings, and James W. Hastings (Stepfather), and a younger brother Thomas W. Rigdon.

Pallbearers: Brian Heaton, Talbert Essary, Dakota Bennett, Jim Junkin, Lee Hannah, and Forrest Allen.

A visitation for Connie will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at RIdgecrest Baptist Church, 912 31st St E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 912 31st St E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405.
