Cindy Sayer Meyers, age 55, of Northport, died April 15, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Gray and Dr. Curtis Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Sayer, and her mother, Lois Sayer.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Meyers of Northport; daughter, Christina Ann Sansing (Nelson) of Moundville; son, Jonathan Michael Meyers (Jennifer) of Jasper; sisters, Brenda Sayer Dupre´ (Walter) of Mobile and Sandra Sayer (Lary) of Northport; and grandchildren, Mackenzie Noel Meyers, Benjamin Ray Sansing, and Noah Bryant Meyers.
Cynthia “Cindy” Sayer Meyers was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Holt High School in 1975 and then graduated from the University of West Alabama with a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees in special education. She then spent 20 years in the Tuscaloosa County School System as a special education teacher. She was an active member of Taylorville Baptist Church where she was in the Faith and Fellowship Sunday School Class, a member of the choir, and helped with vacation bible school. She loved her animals, especially her dogs.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Holliman, Gene Rice, Tyler Sansing, Mark Kessler, Chad Norris, Ryan Jenkins, Matthew Carr, and Mike Sadberry.
Honorary pallbearers are DCH MICU, Hospice of West Alabama, TCHS faculty and staff, Beta Sigma Phi sisters, Bunco Group, and Faith and Fellowship Class.
