Carolyn J. "Patsy" McKnight, age 82, of Coker, Ala., passed away August 20, 2018 in Coker, Ala. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018, at Memory Chapel with Alton Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 12:30 – 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Causey McGee and Samuel Clarence Brown.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam McKnight Lee of Coker, Melinda McKnight Fountain (James) of Centreville and Beth McKnight Barnes (William) of Coker; son, Billy McKnight, Jr. (Peggy) of Coker; sisters, Anne Brown Simpson of Punta Gorda, Fla. and Deborah Poloson of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer Collins, Jordan Gurganus, Fletcher Barnes, Rob Lee, Leana McKnight, Patton Barnes and Sam Lee; and five great-grandchildren.
Carolyn "Patsy" retired after 35 years of service in the x-ray and lab with Partlow State Hospital and University Medical Center. She was member of Coker United Methodist Church. Patsy will be remembered as a fun and loving mother to her four children and for spending time with her grandchildren, participating in various clubs, shopping and spending time in her yard.
Pallbearers will be Fletcher Barnes, Patton Barnes, Rob Lee, Sam Lee, Tommy McKnight and Wesley Collins.
Honorary pallbearers are employees of University Medical Center (past and present), TCHS Class of 1953, Shenna, Debbie and Beca from Shenna's Hair Salon, members of Red Hat and Qui Vive Club, Dr. Scott Arnold, doctors and staff of the Manderson Cancer Center and friends and family of the Coker and Northport communities.
