Anne Smith

Elizabeth Anne Norris Smith, age 69, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died January 21, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Plant officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Elizabeth Norris and Stanley Jennings Norris; sister, Patricia Sanford; and brother, Michael Norris.

Survivors include her husband, L. Donnie Smith of Tuscaloosa; daughters, Amy Minchin (Jonathan) of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Holly Smith of Tuscaloosa; sister, Sandra Kizziah of Cottondale; and grandchildren, Abigail Minchin, Elizabeth Minchin and Emily Minchin of Gulf Breeze, Fla.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Anne Smith showed selfless love for others in everything she did. For 40 years, she served as office manager for L. Donnie Smith & Associates, CPAs, assisting countless clients with bookkeeping and other financial matters. She treated all clients as friends and valued these relationships dearly.

She earned a bachelor's degree in business education at the University of Alabama and was a 1966 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School.

She believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since childhood.

A longtime supporter of University of Alabama Athletics, Anne faithfully cheered on her beloved Crimson Tide. Her grand dogs held a special place in her heart.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Smith, Jerry Smith, Jeremy Kizziah, Jay Smith, Blake Smith and Kevin Barnette.

Honorary pallbearers are Members of the Safe Harbor/Pate Sunday School Class, DCH Emergency Department and MICU nurses and physicians.

Anne loved flowers, but memorial gifts may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or the Humane Society of West Alabama.
