Ann R Stuart

Ann Russell Stuart, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away April 16, 2025, at DCH Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 to 2:30 PM, at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Dr. Kevin Thomas officiating. Heritage Chapel Funeral Home will direct.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Elgie Rhone Russell; husband, Robert Melvin Gilbert, Jr.; and sister Betty Russell Danner.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Ann was born on October 24, 1936, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and a faithful member of Forest Lake Methodist Church. For many years, Ann was employed as a dental hygienist and later was the owner of Uniform Fashions in Tuscaloosa. She was known for her boundless compassion and affection for the many dogs and cats that she rescued throughout her life. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.

Pallbearers will be Tom Danner, John Summerford, J.T. Summerford, Tommy Danner, Barrett Brooks, and Addison Stewart.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. John Miller, Dr. Scott Fulgham, The Crossings of North River, Glenn Haven Health and Rehabilitation, and the neighbors of Lynn Haven subdivision for their loving kindness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of West Alabama, TSNIP, Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter, Forest Lake Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
