Ann was born on August 2, 1950, in Hale County, Alabama to Jonnie and Leroy Weeks. She graduated from Holt High School in the spring of 1968 and shortly thereafter, married a young U.S. Marine, Jimmy Sanford on August 4, 1968. Together, Jimmy and Ann had two boys, Michael Lance and Jimmy Shane, who were their pride and joy. Ann was a homemaker and lovingly cared for her home and children. She supported her husband and sons in all of their hunting and fishing adventures. One of her greatest strengths was loving her two boys as well as her granddaughter, Lindy Beth. She enjoyed “goofing” off with Lindy Beth and did so often. Her favorite hobbies were collecting historic Native American memorabilia and taking care of her beloved Yorkie, Daisy. For those that knew Ann, knew Daisy, as they rarely left each other’s side. Ann was extremely proud of Lindy Beth’s educational accomplishment and was eagerly waiting for her graduation on May 14, 2023. We know that on this upcoming Sunday, Ann will be with us in spirit and gleaming with pride down from heaven when Lindy Beth walks across the stage to receive her Honors Diploma as Valedictorian of American Christian Academy’s Class of 2023.
Although we mourn her passing, we celebrate her life, knowing that she is now with Jesus and reunited with her son, Lance, her best friends, Jerry and Shurrah Watkins, and her parents.
