Ann Burroughs Emerson

Ann Burroughs Emerson, age 82, of Cottondale, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Moundville Nursing Home. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at Memory Hill Gardens at 11:00 AM with Rev. James Walker officiating.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Olen Burroughs and her 2nd husband, Rev. Martin Emerson; son, Jimmy Olen Burroughs; parents, Rufus Zebedee and Nellie Nelmar Akins; siblings, Ruth Teasley (Leonard), Sue Johnson (Junior), Sara Franklin, R.Z. Akins (Martha), Maggie Carter (David), Raymond Akins and Jerry Atkins.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Burroughs (Mara Jo) and Roger Burroughs (Denise); sister, Eudora Hamilton (Harold); sister-in-laws, Linda Akins and Caroline Akins; grandchildren, Jarrod Burroughs (Marsha), Jonathan Burroughs, Brandt Burroughs, Brooke Lucas, Christine Burroughs, Chelsea Winters (Dylan) and Chasity Lagrone (Daniel); great grandchildren, Carlie Carruth, Catie Carruth and Kylan Winters.
