Alice Shannon Sandlin

Alice Shannon Sandlin, age 86, of Tuscaloosa, died 1 January 2021, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Burial will be at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Pansey Alabama. Due to the ongoing COVID pandemic funeral services will be private and entrusted to Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, Tuscaloosa, AL.

Born in Holly Pond, Alabama 16 January 1934, she graduated with a degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama in 1956. She worked for the University of Alabama until retiring in 1987, initially at the Supply Store and later the Athletic Ticket Office. A life-long member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa and past president of the Alpha Zeta Chapter of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority. Alice loved being a University of Alabama student, employee, and alumni (especially attending football and basketball games), helping with the church nursery, her service sorority, and her many spoiled cats.

She is predeceased by her parents Dr. Eliga Green Sandlin and Annie Florence Burkett; her brothers Rupert Xerxes Sandlin and McDewain Sandlin; and her sisters Annie Kathryn Bond and Mary Ellen Kupinse. She is survived by several nieces and nephews William Kupinse Jr., Sylvia Stacey, McDewain Sandlin Jr., Virginia Anne Brewer, Cynthia Baker, David Allan Sandlin, Daniel Paul Bond, and Rupert Hampton Sandlin. She was also blessed by several grandnieces and grandnephews that she loved very much.
