Maria Selicia Dias Pacheco Aguiar, age 76, of Turlock, California passed away at her home on Friday, July 21, 2023. Maria Selicia was born in São Bartolomeu, Terceira, Açores to Maria de Conceição Gonsalves Dias and José Machado Cota.
Maria Selicia is survived by her husband of 50 years Arlindo Fernando Pacheco Aguiar of Turlock along with her 2 sons, Greg Aguiar, (Cidalia) and Rogerio Aguiar (Nicole) all of Hilmar. Maria Selicia is also survived by her brother José Dias Cota (Benvida) of Terceira, Açores, her brother-in-law Francisco Eduardo Pacheco Aguiar (Olivia) of São Mateos, Terceira, her sister-in-law Yvonne Cota of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and her sister-in-law Fernanda Nogueira Pnceano (João) of Terra Chã, Terceira. Maria Selicia leaves behind her grandchildren, Gavin, Victoria, Jamison, and Hayden Aguiar and various nieces and nephews to honor her memory.
Maria Selicia was preceded in death by her father José Machado Cota, her mother Maria de Conceição Gonsalves Dias along with her brothers Joaquin Dias Cota and Evelino Dias Cota.
Maria Selicia was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Turlock Pentecost Association (T.P.A), Clube Portugues da Irmandade do Divino Espirito Santo (C.P.I.D.E.S) and Luso America.
A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass for Maria Selicia will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, CA 95324.
A committal service will be held at North Hilmar Cemetery, 8710 N. Tegner Road,, Hilmar, CA 95324.
Serving as pallbearers are Matt Mouro, Nelson Vitorino, Fernando Machado Jr., Manuel Sequeira, Daniel Mouro and Marcus Mouro.
