Maria Niveria Maciel

Maria Niveria Maciel, age 67, of Los Banos, California passed away at home on Sunday, December 3, 2017. Maria was born June 6, 1950 in Rosais, São Jorge, Açores to Maria Rosario Avila and Jose Nunes Avila.

Maria is survived by: her husband of 46 years Antonio F. Maciel of Los Banos; son Joseph A. Maciel of Colorado; son Avelino A. Maciel and his wife Teresa Maciel of Gilroy; daughter Gina Maciel and her wife Julie Smith of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister Maria Honoria Cardoso and her husband Antonio Cardoso of Santa Clara; and her grandchildren Vicente Maciel, Isabel Maciel, Andre Maciel, Aliana Maciel, Alexandre Maciel and Sandra Maciel.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Jose Nunes Avila and Maria Rosario Avila.

Mrs. Maciel was a dedicated parishioner of Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Los Banos.

A visitation for Maria Niveria Maciel will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 West Main, Turlock, California 95380. A rosary followed by a funeral mass will occur at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles: 370 Linden Avenue, Gustine, California 95322. A committal service will occur after the service at Los Banos Cemetery: 16575 Center Avenue, Los Banos, CA 93635.
