Maria Lina Couto

Maria Lina Couto, age 90, of Newman, California passed away in Hilmar, California surrounded by her family, on Friday, January 27, 2023. Maria was born in Fontinhas Terçeira, Açores to Maria Encarnação Correia and Manuel Leal Valado.

Maria is survived by her son Luciano M. Do Couto of Gardenia and her daughter Elisa Martins (Antonio) of Newman. Maria also leaves behind her 6 grandchildren Krystian Bonilla (Jessica), Jayson Do Couto, Jennifer Hutchins (Dominic), Melissa Bonilla (Vladimir Gonzalez), Yvonna Do Couto, Anthony Martins (Dusti) along with 4 great grandchildren, Sienna Hutchins, Noah Bonilla, Rhys Bonilla and Saige Hutchins to honor her memory.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband Manuel Goncalves Do Couto, her daughter Silvina Bonilla, her father Manuel Leal Valado, her mother Maria Encarnação Correia and her brother Manuel Leal.

Maria was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, California.

A Rosary Service and Funeral Mass for Maria will be held Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, CA 95324.

A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90807.
