A woman of profound faith, Maria prayed the Rosary every day, finding strength in her quiet devotion. Her life was marked by unwavering strength, a deep love for her family, and a kind spirit that touched everyone she knew. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Maria is survived by her children: Antonio Batista (Julie) of Gustine, Vitalina Rosenow (Steve) of Modesto, and Joey Batista (Christina) of Hilmar. She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Brasil (José) of Turlock, Cecilia Vitorino of Stevinson, Connie Nunes of Hilmar, and Elvira Cardoso (John) of Idaho. In addition, Maria leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Lyndsey Leon, Antonio Joseph Batista (Jen), Bryan Sousa (Shai), Gabriel Miranda (Danielle), Kyle Batista, Kayla Avila (Guillermo), Chandler Sutton (Sean), Briana Miranda, Kalem Miranda (Sara), Holden Rosenow, Noah Batista, Jerrid Miranda, Michael Batista, Caitlin Batista, and Jacob Batista. Her great-grandchildren: William Avila, Kyson Sousa, Reed Miranda, Eden Miranda, and Sage Miranda will carry forward her legacy. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who will honor her memory with love.
Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Antonio Silva Batista; her parents, Manuel Batista Silva and Maria Clementina Silva; her sister, Teresa Olive; and her precious great-grandson, Sterling Miranda.
Maria was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Turlock.
A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 2602 Walnut Road, Turlock, California, 95380.
A Recitation of the Rosary followed by a Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church 2602 S. Walnut Road, Turlock, California, 95380.
Serving as pallbearers are: Kyle Batista, Gabriel Miranda, Kalem Miranda, Noah Batista, Holden Rosenow and Jerrid Miranda.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are: Bryan Sousa, Antonio Joseph Batista, Michael Batista, and Jacob Batista.
Maria will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, California, 95380.
No dia 9 de dezembro de 2024, faleceu no hospital em Modesto a Senhora Maria Rosália Batista. Contava 80 anos de idade e viveu em Hilmar durante 30 anos, tendo passado os últimos quatro em Modesto com a sua filha.
Era natural de São Tomé, Topo, São Jorge, Açores.
A Senhora Batista deixa de luto, os seus filhos: António Batista, casado com Julie, de Gustine; Vitalina Rosenow, casada com Steve, de Modesto; e Joey Batista, casado com Christina, de Hilmar. Deixa também as suas irmãs: Maria Brasil, casada com José, de Turlock; Cecília Vitorino, de Stevinson; Connie Nunes, de Hilmar; e Elvira Cardoso, casada com John, de Idaho. Deixa ainda quinze netos, cinco bisnetos e vários sobrinhos.
Foi precedida na morte pelo seu marido, António Silva Batista; pelos seus pais, Manuel Batista Silva e Maria Clementina Silva; a sua irmã, Teresa Oliveira; e o bisneto, Sterling Miranda.
A Senhora Batista era membro da Igreja Católica de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, de Turlock.
Os serviços fúnebres terão lugar na quarta-feira, 18 de dezembro, na Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, 2602 Walnut Road, Turlock, Califórnia, 95380.
O velório será das 9h às 10h da manhã, seguindo-se a recitação do terço e a missa de corpo presente.
A Senhora Batista será sepultada no Cemitério de Turlock.
