Jose is survived by: his spouse, Gabriela Martins Soares; son Joe Soares of Modesto; son David Soares of Turlock; daughter Elizabeth Vargas (Ernesto) of Newman; daughter Lucy Maez (Bruce) of San Jose; sister Guimar Pereira of Massachusetts; and sister Carminha Soares of Turlock. Jose had seven grandchildren to honor his memory.
He enjoyed gardening, watching soccer, and playing games with his family like cards or dominoes. Jose was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, California.
Jose was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation for Jose will be held from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2020 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California.
A funeral service will occur at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 26, 2020 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. A graveside service will follow at N. Hilmar Cemetery District, 8710 N. Tegner Road, Hilmar, California.
