José De Couto Parreira

José De Couto Parreira, age 78, of Hilmar, California passed away at home on Friday, September 2, 2022. José was born February 15, 1944 in Augalva, Terceira, Açores to Rita Romeira de Couto and Manuel Nunes Parreira.

José is survived by his spouse of 55 years, Leonilde Parreira of Hilmar; his son Marco Parreira (Shawna) of Turlock; his brother Manuel Parreira (Filomena) of Providence, his sister Maria Marcelino (Vital) of Delhi, his sister Paulina Melo of Watsonville and his sister Regina Borges of Turlock; José also leaves behind his three grandchildren Marco Parreira Jr., Jordan Parreira, and Michelle Rodriguez-Parreira (Anthony). Along with his three great grandchildren, Austin, Rylen and Reddington Rodriguez to honor his memory.

José was preceded in death by his son Joáo E. Parreira; his granddaughter Samantha Parreira; his parents Manuel Nunes Parreira and Rita Romeira de Couto; his siblings Joáo Parreira, Chica Duarte, Maria Parreira Azevedo and Francisco Parreira.

A visitation for José will be held Monday, September 12, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.

A Rosary Service followed by a Funeral Mass will occur Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Assumptions Catholic Church, 2602 South Walnut Road, Turlock, CA 95380.

A Committal Service to follow Funeral Mass Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 North Soderquist Road, Turlock, CA 95380.

Serving as pallbearers are Marco Parreira, Jordan Parreira, Jorge Alves, Frank David Alves, Frank Borges and Helio Borges.
