John M. Souza

John is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Souza of Hilmar; his sister's Beatrice Nyborg of Pleasant Hill and Gloria Ramos of Turlock; his sister-in-law Sharon Pettay (Jim) of Red Bluff and his niece Melissa Dickens (Matt) of Oakdale. John also leaves behind his great nephews Maddox, Mason and Marcus Dickens to honor his memory.

John was preceded in death by his son Ronnie Souza; his father John M. Souza and his mother Embrazina Souza; his sister Adelaine Souza and his sister Dolores Souza.

John was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, he worked at Turlock Irrigation District as a heavy equipment operator for 26 years. John was a member of Y.M.I., Lyons Club Hilmar, Turlock Horseman's and a volunteer firefighter for Hilmar and Stevinson Fire Departments.

In lieu of flowers, the Souza Family requests that donations be made to the Holy Rosary Building Fund 8741 Cypress Street, Hilmar, CA 95324, or to a charity of your choosing.

A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass for John will be held Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 8741 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California 95324.

John will be laid to rest at Hilmar Cemetery, 8710 N. Tegner Road, Hilmar, California 95324.

Serving as pallbearers are Clare Takhar, Jackson Takhar, David Mendes, David Mendes Jr., Joe Schoneman, Dennis Morais, Bryan Giebeler and Amaro Souza.
