Born in Beaver, Texas John lived a life marked by honesty, forthrightness, and a steadfast commitment to his values. Known for his austere demeanor, he approached life with a clear sense of purpose and an unwavering dedication to those he loved and the work he did.
John was a proud veteran who served honorably in the Navy, dedicating his life to protecting our freedoms and upholding the values of service and sacrifice. Following his time in the military, he became an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3199, where he was deeply committed to supporting his fellow veterans and contributing to his community. He took great pride in his role within the VFW, fostering a sense of camaraderie and solidarity among his peers.
A master drywaller by trade, John was respected in his community for his exceptional skill and craftsmanship. His work ethic and attention to detail set a standard in the industry, earning him the admiration of peers and clients alike.
Beyond his professional achievements, John found solace and joy in the quiet moments spent fishing. Whether by the lake or along a serene riverbank, he cherished the peace and reflection that fishing provided.
He is survived by his beloved Lessie Mae Renfro and was proceeded in death by his parents, Ben and Elaine Phillips, and his siblings Allen Phillips and Jay Phillips.
John’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of integrity, hard work, and the peaceful moments spent by the water will remain in the hearts of all who loved him. May he rest in everlasting peace.
