John is survived by his children, Orlando Escobar (Barbara) of Atwater; Elizabeth Pires (Adrian) of Stevinson; four grandsons: Tony Escobar, Brian Escobar, Andrew Pires, and Conner Pires.
He is preceded in death by all of his siblings, Maria Aurora Escobar, Jose Escobar, Fr. Manuel Escobar, Antonio Escobar, Philbert Escobar and Bernice Pais.
John was a very humble man and enjoyed making people laugh. He enjoyed the company of others and had a great sense of humor. He adored his kids, grandkids and family gatherings. John took pride in his garden and was a wonderful cook. He created his own recipes and found joy in preparing meals for the family. The love of his life, Maria was his soul mate, they did everything together. They were the best example of true love and were married 64 years.
John was a hard working man, at the age of 29 he came to America where he worked at Areias Dairy in Los Banos, CA. He started his dairy in Turlock, CA then in 1974 he moved to Atwater, CA where he bought and took great pride in the family dairy. John was fortunate to have retired at the age of 55 so that he could enjoy life with Maria.
John was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Atwater, CA where they attended regularly until they became unable, then watched virtual mass and prayed the rosary every day.
A visitation for John will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A rosary service will occur Monday, March 22, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1799 Winton Way, Atwater, CA 95301 with funeral mass to follow.
A committal service will occur Monday, March 22, 2021 at12:00 PM at Los Banos Cemetery, 16575 Central Avenue, Los Banos, CA 93635.
Serving as pallbearers are Tony Escobar, Brian Escobar, Andrew Pires, Conner Pires, Albert Nunes and David Bustos.
