Joel Guadalupe Ramos

Mr. Joel Guadalupe Ramos “Entered into Rest” on Saturday, July 19, 2014 as the result of a traffic accident on Hwy 101 near his home in Brookings, Oregon. He was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, rose in Merced and has lived Brookings for two years. He was employed as a Correctional Officer for Pelican Bay State Prison in Crescent City, CA. Joel is survived by his wife of 10 years, Stacey B. Avila Ramos of Brookings OR; Son – Joel Ramos, Jr. of Brookings OR; Two Daughters – Natalie Rose Avila Ramos and Alexis Serenity Avila Ramos both of Brookings, OR; Mother – Maria Luz Ramos and Step-Father Vincent Linhares of Merced, CA; Father – Jose Adolfo of Brookings, OR; Brother – Luis Ernesto Gardenas-Ramos of Merced, CA; Father-in-Law, Lee Avila & his Finance Trudy Finn both of Atwater, CA; Grandmothers – Hiliaria Ramos of Mexico and Abagil Cardenas of Brookings, OR; Preceded in death by his Grandfather – Hesimundo Ramos. Joel is now with his wife Stacey’s Grandmother, Rosa Belo. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at the shooting range, golfing, and loved to spending time with his Stacey and his children Joel (8 years old), Natalie (6 years old) and Alexis (8 months old) and his two German Sheppard’s. Joel loved being a father. He would play on the trampoline with his children, Xbox, board games, reading, praying with them, family walks, going to Harris Beach & Leob Park with the children and the dogs. Family was everything to him. He had a heart of Gold and he worked hard to provide and give children and wife the world. One year for Christmas he dressed up as Santa and put gifts under the Christmas tree.

Services: Visitation – Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Combined Rosary & Funeral Mass – Friday, August 1, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut Rd., Turlock, CA. Internment following the Funeral Mass at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
