Eric John Salado Sr., born on September 20, 1960, in Oakland, California, passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 64. A man of many passions and qualities, Rick lived a life rich in love, laughter, and adventure.
Rick was a 1978 graduate of Livingston High School, where he made lifelong friends who shared his love for humor, outdoor pursuits, and creativity. He had a deep appreciation for nature, frequently spending time hunting and fishing in the serene landscapes that he adored. He also enjoyed archery and was always ready for a challenge, whether it was hitting the target or simply enjoying the outdoors.
An avid Harley rider, Rick found freedom on the open road, his motorcycle serving as a symbol of his adventurous spirit. Music was another central part of Rick's life. He loved attending concerts, immersing himself in the rhythms and melodies that captured his soul.
A man of intelligence and wit, Rick’s curiosity extended beyond hobbies. He was a good chess player, a smart man who loved the thrill of strategy, always eager for a friendly challenge. His love for Native American art also fueled his creative side, particularly in his passion for knife-making—a craft he took great pride in.
Rick was a gentle and caring soul, adored by his family. His love for them was unconditional, and his easygoing nature made him a joy to be around. He had a wonderful sense of humor, often the first to laugh at a good joke—and the first to laugh at his own clumsiness. Whether it was stubbing his toe or getting caught in a harmless prank, he never took himself too seriously, reminding us all that life is to be enjoyed.
