Doris was born on November 29, 1929, to Robert and Mary Agnes Lee in Lakewood, New Jersey. In 1952, she married and began her own family. Doris was a hardworking woman who took great pride in her role as Cafeteria Manager for the Los Angeles Unified School District.
A devout servant of the Lord, Doris spent many Sundays at Holy Rosary, praying and offering her help around the church. She was entrusted with caring for the collection plates and always answered the call for whatever was needed.
She was deeply committed to her community, dedicating her time and energy to numerous organizations. Her involvement spanned across the Hilmar Senior Citizens Volunteer Group, the Religious Education Program at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Atwater AARP #2194, Delta Blood Bank, The Sunshine Club of Atwater, The Salvation Army of Turlock, Father Flanagan's Boys’ Home, and the Merced County Area Agency on Aging, among many others. Over the years, she was honored with several awards and letters of recognition for her unwavering service and dedication to these causes. Outside of her volunteer work, she found joy in playing bingo and bunco, and cherished the time spent with friends during these social gatherings.
Doris leaves behind her daughters, Karen Wallace (Rick) and Sandra Smith; her grandchildren, Ryan Wallace, Matthew Wallace, Michele Scharine, Melissa Mariotti, and John Mariotti; her great-grandchildren, London Wallace, Robert Drake, and Mason Scharine; and her great-great-grandchildren, Damien Drake, Sophia Drake, and Aubrey Drake.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Krekor Krikorian; her parents, Robert and Mary Lee; and many other beloved family members.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Wallace, Ryan Wallace, Matthew Wallace, and Robert Drake.
The recitation of the Rosary and funeral Mass, will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 20263 American Avenue, Hilmar, California, on April 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow in the church hall.
