Carla Elizabeth Couto

Carla Elizabeth Couto, age 54 passed away peacefully on February 2, 2015, in Modesto, surrounded by loved ones, after a devastating battle with cancer. Carla was born in Ontario, CA, to Carlos, Sr. and Elizabeth Sousa, and was raised in Tracy, CA. She is survived by her husband, George Couto of Hughson, with whom she just celebrated 26 years of marriage this last November, her son Jason Couto of Turlock, her daughter Alyssa Couto of Hughson, her mother Elizabeth Perry and step-father Ken Perry of Tracy, her brothers Carl Sousa (Tena) of Stockton, Kevin Sousa of Tracy, and Michael Sousa of Tracy, and her rescue dogs Ziggy and Sissy. Mrs. Carla Elizabeth Couto, is Preceded in Death by her Father, Carlos Sousa, Sr., and Sister, Lisa Sousa.

Carla was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and an employee of Turlock Irrigation District. She always helped everyone around her and was the glue of her family. She became an animal lover and advocate in recent years. She is loved by many and will be sincerely missed by family, friends and community.

Services:Visitation- 2:00 to 5:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, CA. Vigil & Rosary- 8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons Ave., Turlock. Funeral Mass- 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Saint Bernard’s Catholic Church, 123 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA. Christian Burial following the Mass to Tracy Public Cemetery, 600 E. Schulte Rd., Tracy. A celebration of life reception will follow at St. Bernard’s Holy Family Center, 12100 W. Valpico Rd., Tracy.
