

Violet A. Deeds, 89, of Olympia, WA, passed away at home surrounded by her family, on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011. She was born on Sept. 28, 1922 in Olympia, WA, to James and Violet (Miller) Holman. Violet graduated from Stadium High School, Tacoma, WA, in 1940. On July 5, 1940 she married the love of her life Norman Deeds and together they raised two children, Monte and Caren.
Violet worked for Sunset Life Insurance Company and retired as a Policy Supervisor after 23 years. She was very active in her community; she was the past President and Associate Member of Insurance Women of Thurston County, also Violet was a member of the Garfield Orthopedic Guild. She will be remember for many things; a caring mother, an adoring grandmother and her love for the color pink.
Violet is survived by her son, Monte Deeds, daughter, Caren Deeds, 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren, sister, Evelyn Parker, brother, Richard Holman, Sr., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, parents, and brother, James R. Holman.
The visitation is this Thursday, from 11am-1pm, Nov. 10th, at Mills & Mills Funeral Home, Tumwater, WA, followed by the Funeral Service at 1pm and Graveside Service at 2pm, Mills & Mills Memorial Park, and concluding with a reception inside Mills & Mills Funeral Home.
