Susan (Sue) Williams, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born to Edwin and Helen Roalkvam on September 6, 1958 in Tacoma. Sue graduated from Washington High School and proceeded to attend Pacific Lutheran University, where she met the love of her life, Butch Williams. Sue and Butch celebrated 45 years together and enjoyed 38 years of marriage.
Sue was born to be an educator and proudly worked as one for 44 years. She taught second and third grade for over 30 years in Chehalis and spent the last decade of her career in Olympia. She was passionate about education and loved to help little minds grow.
Those who knew Sue well knew she had a great sense of humor and loved being silly. Sue was an avid reader, quilter, and gardener. She enjoyed going on long walks, visiting with friends, taking trips with her family, playing with her “grand puppies,” and celebrating holidays with loved ones.
Sue will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She adored her family and loved spending quality time together. Sue is survived by her husband, Butch Williams of Olympia, her son, Alex Williams (Leanna) of San Antonio, TX, and her daughter, Amanda McCarthy (Travis) of Olympia.
Sue was a ray of sunshine and everyone who met her immediately loved her. She will be missed greatly.
