Sharon Lee Staley was born in Medina, Washington and lived the first 9 years of her life in Bellevue. In 1954 the family moved to Olympia where Sharon lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Olympia High School and was in the first graduating class of SPSCC. Hired by the State of Washington immediately after graduation, Sharon spent her whole career working for the state in various capacities. She retired in 1995 after more than 30 years and then began enjoying life.
After retiring Sharon did volunteer work for seniors doing yard and garden work, joined 3 car clubs, rode her motorcycle across the US and Canada, and sang in musical choirs. She especially loved singing with the Old Olympia car club during Christmas time at Top Foods.
Sharon also had many hobbies including all sorts of crafts, studying Washington State birds, gardening in her back yard, documenting her family genealogy, and any and all activities related to her car clubs and her 1971 Opel GT.
Services for Sharon will be held on Thursday, May 14th at 1 PM at Mills & Mills Funeral Home in Tumwater with graveside service following at 2 PM in the Garden of the Fountain. There will also be a memorial for Sharon on Saturday May 16th at 11 AM at the Sandstone restaurant in Tenino. A complimentary buffet brunch will be served as we celebrate Sharon's' life.
