Sean Michael Copeland, 37, was given to us on June 9, 1985 and returned to the Lord on October 13, 2022 after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Months leading to and at his passing, he was surrounded by his mother Annie, sister Siobhan, step-father Thomas, uncle Steven, and good friends Dwayne and Nelson.
Sean grew up in Yelm, WA where he lived nearly his whole life. He graduated from Yelm High School in 2003 and attended South Puget Sound Community College and the University of Washington. Sean began working at Emerald City Pizza as a teenager, making it his lifelong career. He was blessed with a loving family. He had a strong, unbreakable bond with his mother and sister He meant everything to them, and they meant everything to him. Sean was actively supportive in seeing his sister through college.
Sean was an avid sports fan, immersed in the world of football and soccer. He was a fan of the Tennessee Titans for as long as anyone can remember. He spent countless hours watching games. Sean enjoyed spending time with friends playing poker and Call of Duty. He also enjoyed playing golf and had a deep love for dogs. He was a sneakerhead, collector of baseball cards, hats, and watches.
While Sean’s life was short, he had dreams of going to Spain to watch soccer with his sister and going to Vegas with his mom. He was known for his infectious smile, kind spirit, and generous heart. His sense of humor was like no other, bringing laughter to anyone around him. Everyone who knew Sean felt his big heart and giving nature. His antics are legendary and those close to him have endless stories to tell.
He will be missed by his mother Annie and step-father Tom, sister Siobhan, aunt Kathy (Billy), uncle Michael (Ginny), uncle Joe (Abby), uncle Steven (Patty), and uncle John (Julie), as well as many cousins and friends. Sean is preceded in death by his grandparents John and Ann and John and Addie and his uncle Johnny.
A viewing will be held at Mills and Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, November 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Mills and Mills Funeral Home and Memorial Park, November 12, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.
