Sam was born February 19, 1941 in Buhl, Idaho. hw was a loving husband, father and friend. he very much enjoyed sharing his expereicens and skills wiht the ones he cared for. Sam belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers for 51 years, where he worked on various construction projects in Thurston, Pierce and King counties. Sam also worked at Prudo Bay, Alaska for 3 years maintaining and reparinging equipment for the pipleine project. Later he worked in Tacoma at the skids for several more years building modules for the Alaska pipline, After which Sam worked for Fuji construction until he retired in 1996.
Sam's greatest passion was deep-sea fishing. he loved fishing ofr salmon, halibut, lingcod, sea-bass, crab and shrimp with his family and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice, father, EstEl, and sister, Iva. He is surrvivied by his wife, Florence, sons, Benny and Dale, and his brother and sisters, Donald W. Roberts, Geneva Clark, Leslie Weight, and Roberta Oleary.
The Roberts family would like to give special thanks to Providence Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they proveded while caring for Sam.
