Russell Stanley Thompson

After graduating from Napavine High School in 1952, Russ joined the U.S. Navy. Later he graduated from the innovative farrier program at CA Polytechnic University.

In August of 1956, he married Nancy Ellen Davis in Walnut Creek, California. They returned to Washington and settled in Littlerock where they reared their two daughters, Etta Jean and Amy Lucille until 1972.

Russ later met and married Lucille Rae Cooper and became one of the most sought after and respected farriers in the Pacific Northwest.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille at their home in Tenino; brohter, Wilber Thompson; sister, Darlene Currier; and two daughters.

Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 10 ., 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Napavine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Thurston Co. 4-H Extension Office, Russell Thompson Horse Project, 3054 Carpenter Rd SE, Oympia, WA 98503.
