Robin Joy Schmidt

Robin Joy Schmidt Robin passed to her eternal rest on October 21, 2011, in Scottsdale, AZ after a brief illness. She was born on October 6, 1964, in Fontana, CA. to Harvey and Joan Bonnema. She moved to Washington with her family in 1971 and attended Littlerock Elementary School. She graduated from Tumwater High School in 1982, and then attended Bates Vocation College in Tacoma. In 1983 she married Jeff Cook of Omak, WA. They had two sons, Lucas and Joseph. In 1992 they were divorced. Robin worked for and became manager of Cattin' s Restaurant in Tumwater for several years. In 1995 she married Lonnie Schmidt of Olympia, WA. She attended cosmetology school and owned and operated a salon in Olympia. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie; sons, Lucas and Joseph Cook of Omak, WA; grandchildren, Joey and Luke Cook of Elgin, S.C.; step children, Kevin and Justine Schmidt, Steve and Carrie Powell, Chrissy Day; and 11 grandchildren, all of Olympia; parents, Harvey and Fran Bonnema of Olympia, Joan and Dave Sharpes of Shelton; brother, Patrick Bonnema of Tenino; 6 nieces and nephews; and 7 grand nieces and nephews, all of the Olympia area. Robin loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and the many members of her extended family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Stuart and Steven Bonnema. Her warm, loving ways and beautiful smile will be sorely missed by family and friends
