father of 3, passed away at the age of 63.
Robert was born on July 22nd, 1960 to Rosemary and Richard Bostwick in Tacoma,
Washington. Robert grew up in Tacoma, attended St. Anns, and graduated from Bellarmine
Preparatory School in 1978. He often talked fondly of his time at CYO camps, especially Camp
Cabrini. Robert and his brothers enjoyed time at Wapato Park, catching bullfrogs and playing
when the ice froze over. Labor Day parties were also a favorite of Roberts, playing horseshoes
and camping.
Robert always spoke about the fun he had while working at the Spaghetti Factory in Tacoma.
Later, Robert joined the union and became a Pipefitter, with Local 82. He loved his work. He
was in a car accident and had to retire early. He then took on remodeling his entire home,
project after project. He was also a homebrewer, winning many awards at the Puyallup State
Fair, and loved making apple pie moonshine.
Robert loved his grandchildren. Notes left for him in the morning were never thrown or tucked
away but hung in the hall by his bedroom, and around the house, to be adored. He bought
excessive amounts of jelly beans, hot tamales, and pepperjack cheese to spoil them. He had
Nerf gun battles, high karate games, stories of fighting dragons, trash can swimming pools,
bronco billy rides, cribbage, and hurt ball may have been the household favorite.
Robert met his wife, Rosalie, at Yelm Prairie Days. He told his friends right away, "I am going to
marry that girl." They were married October 1st, 1988. They raised their three daughters in
Tumwater, WA. Robert loved camping and cruising. He and his wife Rosalie loved going on
Carnival Cruises. Robert went on his final cruise with family and friends in August 2023 and got
the Diamond Level that he and Rosalie were aspiring to.
