Marilyn Peck, of Olympia, WA, passed away May 1, 2020 at the age of 84, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Port Angeles, WA on August 6, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank Peck, in 2011.Mom’s career was mostly homemaking. She was not given to showing outward emotions, but she loved her family. She enjoyed making treats, and at Christmas she would fill trays with cookies, fudge and caramel corn to give. She made the best pies! Out of necessity and love she sewed school clothes for her kids and made sure they always had breakfast before school and a good lunch to take with them. Mom loved listening to opera and marching band music. She liked to read mystery and romance novels. She also enjoyed bowling, watching ice skating and Mariners and Seahawks games on TV. And who remembers going to visit her and dad, always sitting at the kitchen table, and the extra table in the living room with a jigsaw puzzle? She especially loved flowers and going for scenic car rides. She is survived by her children, Donna Simon, Keith Simon, Russell Simon, Shelby Jorgensen, Gregory Peck and Ellen Peck, and her step-children Frank Peck, Jr., Cher (Virginia) Tebbs, Patricia Epperson and Penny Ramos, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her sister, Sue Ellen Dunn and brother Michael Dunn. There will be a graveside placement gathering for immediate family members only on Saturday, May 23, at 10:00 am.
