Margaret Robinson (Peg) 101, of Olympia, Washington passed away on October 17, 2020 in her sleep at her home. She was born in Great Falls, Montana on June 1, 1919 the second child of Charles and Marguerite (Berkner) Thompson. Peg was raised in Highwood, Mt. with her three brothers (Bud, Bob, and Keith). After graduating from nurses training she moved to Helena, MT where she met her husband John Andrew Robinson (Andy). Peg and Andy raised four children, Charles, Audrey, Ken and William (Bill). Upon Andy’s death in 1959 Peg raised the children while obtaining her BSN in nursing and working as a nurse. In 1965 she bought the Arctic Circle Drive Inn in Pullman, WA which she ran for a number of years before moving to the Tacoma area. After retiring from nursing at Western State Hospital Peg volunteered as a home care worker until she was in her 80’s. At the age of 98 Peg moved to Brooks Blessings Adult Family Home in Olympia to be close to her son Bill, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Peg loved her time in her yard in University Place, growing a small garden and lots of flowers. She loved to watch things grow. Peg was a quilter and made many quilts to donate and give to family. Peg enjoyed camping, she had a motor home in her later years and loved to take the grandkids camping. Reading had always been her favorite hobby. While raising her children she would read while they napped and read to them before bed. As her hearing declined reading was her biggest form of entertainment. In her most recent years the great grandchildren were the greatest entertainment she had. She loved to watch them whenever they were around. She wanted to hear what they were doing even when they could not visit.
Peg was a strong independent woman, a loved and wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by her children: Charles (deceased), Audrey Ledgerwood (John), Ken (deceased)(Sharon) and Bill (Jeanniene) Grandchildren: Sheree and Brian Robinson; Boris, Andrew, Robert Liffring; Brad, Ross Robinson, Natessa Fiskness, Colby Robinson and 9 great-grandchildren: Harrison and Josie (JJ) Robinson; Brooke Robinson; Claire, Amy and Justin Fiskness; and Tatiana.
