Clara “Louise” (Cutler) Wood, (91) of Olympia, Washington went to be with her Lord and Savior December 12, 2014 at Mother Joseph Care Center, Olympia, Washington. She was born December 18, 1922 in Yakima, Washington.
Louise lived with her family in Yakima where she attended schools and Stone Church Assembly of God. Louise attended Northwest Bible Institute (Seattle) 1939-1942; she married Foster B. Wood October 12, 1945 in Vancouver, Washington. Her daughter Marilyn was born December 11, 1946 in Ellensburg, Washington and son Darrell July 4, 1949 in Pasco Washington. Louise and Foster pastored churches in Roslyn, Washington 1945-1948; Craigmont, Idaho 1949-1954; and Hawaii 1954-1959. They were missionaries in Indonesia from 1960-1985. Upon their return to Washington, they were pastors to the seniors at West Seattle AG from 1985-1991, and at Evergreen Christian Center, Olympia from 1992-2001. After the passing of her husband Foster in 2001, Louise remained very active in the SAM (Senior Adult Ministries), Bible Teaching, Missions Committee, and visitation to shut-ins of Evergreen Christian Community in Olympia, Washington.
She is survived by her son, Darrell (Dianne) Wood (Belgium) and son-in-law Keith (Deena) Holsinger (Lacey). Grandchildren: Becky (Todd) Spalding, Michael Dilworth, Lisa Dietz, Steven Dilworth, Valerie (Scott) Edwards, Jason (Amy) Wood, Ben (Melissa) Wood, and 16 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested that donations to the Missions Committee at Evergreen Christian Community be made in Louise’s memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 3 at 2 PM at Evergreen Christian Community, 1000 Black Lake Blvd., Olympia, WA 98502.
