Jackalyn Jean Cebula, 79, of Yelm, Washington, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA. She was born February 24, 1943 to John and Olive Potter in Everett, WA. “Jackie” was one of three children. She graduated from Spokane High School in 1962.
Following her graduation, Jackie joined the United States Army. After serving four years in the army, she decided to leave in which she had earned the rank of S.P.5., to begin her life as a wife, and mother. In 1964, Jackie married Leonard Capps from Virginia and was married for eight years. She and Leonard traveled to various countries and adopted their daughter, during this time. After her late husband passed away, while stationed in Korea, Jackie and her daughter then located to Tacoma, WA. She then became employed with the Madigan Army Hospital. Jackie worked at the Madigan Army Hospital as a dispatch operator and retired after 20 years of civil service, where she made many wonderful friends.
After some years, Jackie was introduced to Anthony “Tony” Cebula by a mutual friend, Kitty. Tony was a widowed father of nine children. She married Tony in 1974, spending the next 40 years together. They enjoyed Ocean Shores trips, fishing and camping in their trailer, bowling in their free time, and spending time with family and friends. After retirement, Jackie and Tony became snowbirds, traveling to Lake Havasu in Arizona for the winter.
Jackie was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Capps; second husband, Anthony Cebula; her mother and father, and brothers, John and Joe; children, Deborah and David; and grandchildren, Lance and Scott.
Survivors include her children, Elena (Adam), Tony Joe, Nanette, Richard, John (Lydia), Matt, Lisa (Tim), Pat (Heidi); and many Grandchildren, and great Grandchildren, along with her sister-in-law, Sue.
