Ian graduated with an Associate of Arts from South Puget Sound Community College in Tumwater, Washington. At the time of his death, Ian had returned to SPSCC, where he was studying to become a machinist. In between studies, Ian spent a few years working abroad in Australia on a working holiday visa, as well as traveling to TaiPei and Bali.
He was passionate about travel and was always searching for another adventure. Ian loved camping, fishing, hanging out with friends and singing karaoke. He had many lifelong friends who were like family to him. Ian also loved writing poetry and short stories; he filled many journals over the years. He loved to create. He was also an avid gamer and a lover of technology. Always a jokester, even from a young age, he loved to pull pranks and make people laugh. He found joy giving gifts and had a very generous spirit. From a young age, he knew the importance of family and could often be found socializing with and helping his grandparents. If anyone needed help, he was always first to volunteer. Family gatherings were very important to him and often initiated game nights.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret June Council.
Ian is survived by his mother, Shelly Strand and step-father Todd Prull; siblings, Bridget Council, Gabriel and Jacob Fobes; father, Aaron Council and step-mother, Keriann; step-siblings, Makayla, Taylor and Sev Prante; grandparents, James Council, Paul and Karen Strand and Marilyn and Jimmy Cummins; aunt and uncle, Marcille and Jack Lane; and nephew, Sky Council-Gates.
Ian is loved by many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
