Glenn grew up in Boston Harbor, graduating from Olympia High School in 1955. After graduation he joined the US Navy. Upon completion of active duty service, he enlisted in the Naval Reserves and continued serving for an additional 30 years. He was employed for 26 years with the Washington State Department of Printing as a Pressman, also serving several years as President of the local Graphic Communications Union.
Glenn and Judy Wood were married in 1959 and had two children, Glenn Jr and Krisandra. They later divorced. Glenn and Sharon were married on April 11, 1975 and with her two children Ronilyn and Scott started their new life in Tenino.
Glenn retired from the Printing Department in 1986 and from the US Naval Reserves in August of 1995. He then embraced retirement to its fullest, enjoying many wonderful fishing and hunting trips with family and friends in Washington, Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Alaska. His greatest joy was spending time with his brothers, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren camping, fishing, hunting or a big family Bar B Q.
Glenn was predeceased by his parents John and Anita Paulsen, two brothers, John and Dan and a sister Janice. He is survived by his children Glenn/JR (Lonna), Linden, TX. Ronilyn Kompoff (Mickey), Anchorage, AK. Krisandra, Tumwater, WA. Scott Ness (Deanna), Shelton WA. Four brothers, Steve, Bill, and Pat of Tenino WA, Jack of Sioux City, IA, and sister, Judy Kerkerslager, Drexel Hill, PA. 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
Glenn was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tenino, serving as a Deacon and as an Elder. Glenn loved God, Family, and Country and his winning smile and contagious laugh will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 3rd, 2023 at 11:00am. Located at First Presbyterian Church, 196 Central Ave, Tenino, Wa. There will also be a time for sharing memories following the service at Tenino Eagles.
